Prior to the arrivals of missionaries, the standard clothing for the indigenous women of Hawaii was the pa'u. Made from the bark of the mulberry tree, the pa'u skirt was worn in layers, often with a design.
Today, the Hawaiian pa'u skirt is the common attire used in the learning and dancing of hula.
Each pa`u made of quality Hawaiian fabric, topped by three rows of adjustable elastic in the comfortable waist band. Our pa'u skirt is beautifully complemented with a lower layer of solid fabric. A longer bottom hem sewn to add weight, allowing a perfect drop.
